QUALITY
The print is perfectly bold, crisp, & clear, unlike most facsimiles with spotted print. This is an original work of ours, & we’ve taken special care with formatting the scans of the original manuscript. We chose thick, chemical free parchment paper that’ll last forever & doesn’t age. For the binding, we used our secret glue not traditional to bookmaking, & a lot of it. The spine is harder than any hard cover. This beauty is built like a tank, to withstand years of combat & study.

We’re yet to see a facsimile with as high quality & durability as ours, & here we offer it at a fraction of the price.

THE HISTORY OF ERASMUS’ GREEK/LATIN NEW TESTAMENT

One won’t find more changes to Erasmus’ work than happened between this first edition of his, 1516, and the compromises made in his very next edition, 1519, the first one to have the licensed approval of Pope Leo X. The publication of Erasmus’ New Testament is the stuff of legends. Before Erasmus, nobody had ever translated from the original Greek to correct Jerome’s translation. Erasmus put his latin rendering side by side with the Greek, knowing the educated in Europe could speak latin, thus creating a universal translation that each nation could translate into their own tongue.

This is the root; the translation of the reformation; what all english Bibles are based on to this day in one way or the other. Both Luther & Tyndale rendered their translations virtually word for word what Erasmus had translated into Latin. Though the legends have grown bigger than their shoes, Tyndale was no expert in the Greek. Everything “Textus Receptus”, relies on Erasmus. It’s far too overlooked just how much ALL PEOPLES rely in their comprehension of the Greek from one man, Erasmus, to this day. It’s hard to imagine that a Pope knowingly licensed the fuel for the reformation, but he was no ordinary Pope, but one who wanted reformation, fought against the other faction within the church at that time. The J-ews.

Tyndale was the 1st to ever translate any of Erasmus’ works into english, “Christsian Knight”. Tyndale was inspired by Erasmus when very young & based his own book “Life of a Christian Man” on Erasmus theme for “Christian Knight”. Poetic that both Erasmus & Tyndale died the same year, 1536, the official height of the reformation. Curiously enough, Erasmus’ translation wouldn’t have went very far had not Pope Leo X gave him official license to do it. Leo protected him. Both Leo X and Erasmus were personal tutors to King Charles V when he was a boy. The King who went on to lead the Spanish Empire into the Americas.

The 1st European colony in America to stick was St. Augustine, Florida; founded by one of King Charles V’s generals, Constantine. You can’t make this stuff up. It’s quite obvious that both Leo X and Erasmus were part of the Augustinian order. The only other serious rival order was the Franciscan Friars, who later became the Jesuits. The reformation’s victories wouldn’t have come if not for Leo X & Erasmus very consciously leading it. It is said that Erasmus had more to do with our current form of government than anyone who signed the declaration of Independence. Fly Eagle, Free Bird, yea.
